When forest landscape management encounters art history

L'Allée aux Vaches

The forest landscapes of Fontainebleau have been an important source of inspiration for many artists. But foresters and artists had different, divergent views on these landscapes. This confrontation gave birth to the first status of "artistic reserve", the first conservation status. In addition, for three years, original experiences of restoration of the atmospheres that inspired the painters were conducted in the forest. The visit will evoke the artists, the evolution of the forest landscapes and the works carried out of restoration of landscape.
